Reckless and Wicked

Up on the fire escape

The waning moon wakes

The city’s ghosts used to eat me alive

Now I walk alongside them, haunting the night

A broken shoe tied near a tree

The bushes, they rattled as I set it free

Bending and shifting the midnight winds blow

The 12 degrees freeze all of my toes

Me and my shoe and the trees and the stars

We are one spirit on our way to Mars

We sing and we dance and we cry all at once

Enlightened, the reckless and wicked have won
